Permission standard
Because recording laws and school policies vary by state and context, Klarity requires users to obtain all permission required by every person, instructor, institution, contract, policy, and applicable law before recording. The user must not rely on Klarity to determine whether recording is lawful.
Processing and controls
No background or automatic recording.
Visible recording indicator and easy stop control.
Fresh confirmation before every recording.
Delete control for the recording and resulting transcript, subject to legal holds and backup timing.
No creation or use of voiceprints or biometric identifiers for identification without a separate state-law review, notice, and consent process.
Retention
Raw audio should be deleted within 30 days after successful transcription unless the user deliberately saves it for an approved longer period. The live product and vendor settings must match this statement.
| Per-use confirmation Start recording? This will record audio and send it for transcription and study-material generation. I confirm that I have permission from every person and institution whose permission is required. Klarity does not determine whether the recording is lawful. |
